How much did each player earn at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Korea?

Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in South Korea was a new venue in the LIV Golf League, which was once used on the DP World Tour.

Byeong Hun An beat Tom Kim in a playoff at the Genesis Championship in Incheon in October 2024 in an all-South Korean showdown. An won on the first playoff hole with a birdie, which beat Kim’s bogey.

On that occasion, An banked €628,388 for winning the event, which is about $677,465. This is well below the staple purse for a tournament winner in the LIV Golf League since it was born in 2022. The winner of the LIV Golf Korea event, Bryson DeChambeau, banked $4 million for his troubles, showing the chasm in funds available to LIV compared with the DP World Tour.

The LIV Golf Korea event was booked in the same week as the CJ Cup Byron Nelson on the PGA Tour, which had a purse of $9,900,000. Scheffler won by eight and pocketed $1,782,000. It was fun to see DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler win in the same week.

It was also being held in the same week as the GS Caltex Maekyung Open Golf Championship at Namseoul Country Club in South Korea.

So far in the LIV Golf League, a variety of players have starred. Adrian Meronk won the season-opener in Riyadh, Niemann won in Adelaide, and Sergio Garcia won in Hong Kong. Niemann then doubled his tally for 2025 in Singapore, so it has been a super year for the Chilean so far.

There wasn’t a DP World Tour event in the same week as LIV Golf Korea, but there was an LPGA Tour event in the same week. This was the Black Desert Championship, which had a purse of $3 million.

While the payouts for LIV Golf events are $20 million, the complete total is $25 million, as there is $5 million divided among the winning teams. The winning team, DeChambeau’s Crushers, earn $750,000 each, but that is invested back in the team.

The four-man squad in second place, Smash, earned $375,000 a piece, and the team in third, Torque, earned $125,000 each, but as we’ve said, this figure gets invested back into the team. It is believed it doesn’t go in the players’ pockets.

The prize money figures and results of LIV Golf’s Korea event in Incheon appear below. Let’s examine the purses of the events on the corresponding tours in the same week: the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour and the Asian Tour.
